Boon and Gem’s Nelson Proposal

A well planned picnic turned surprise proposal at Lake Rotoiti in Nelson caught Gem completely off guard. Boon had been preparing for weeks, initially calling us with his vision we secretly took many phone calls and emails with him to plan this big surprise out. We were so excited to capture this Nelson proposal for them at Lake Rotoiti but beyond scared to ruin the surprise so on the day we kept nearby to the jetty posing as very enthusiastic photographers capturing bird life and eels nearby while Boon and Gem setup for a picnic on the jetty, as Gem sat down to take in the view and enjoy the picnic Boon dropped to one knee completely surprising her. Little did she know that every moment was captured until much later, we love that Boon thought to have the proposal captured so they could cherish this moment for years to come.
